Conflicts settlement: pre- requisite for consolidating internal reform and Opening to the World
Under the umbrella of Peace Research Institute's project, of the Developmental Burden of Armed Conflicts in Sudan, PRI convened its third forum within this project, titled: "Conflicts settlement: pre- requisite for consolidating internal reform and Opening to the World ", that was organized in Monday 25th of April 2017, in Sharqa'a Hall.
Dr. Mohamed Mahgoub Haroon, director of PRI, gave the presentation, where he reflected different aspects of causes and consequences of conflicts in Sudan. Dr. Haroon indicated that political crisis in Sudan is a main cause of conflicts and disputes. He also provoked the status of national elites, who are still failing to assure national and political accord that should lead into settlements.
The forum basically had talked about the ongoing conflicts in Sudan that have resulted in an economic collapse. Where it's obvious to mark the Sudanese citizen, as the first victim in this crisis.
The exploitation and the destruction of the human capital is a serious consequence of conflict. The society is now witnessing dangerous changes, as its motor component (the human) is inherently affected. We are tamped with spirits of hatred and violence, which is largely translated by the individual's attitude that lacks: national spirit, accepting others.
It's easy to notice the huge spread of financial corruption, as demerit earn of easy money, and black economy are normally exercised. For that, there were voices that referred the Sudanese crisis to moral defect of ethics and humanity.
Another important point that was tackled is Sudan's international position during this period of crisis. Highlighting that, internal conflicts could expose the country to political blackmailing.
Attendees concluded with recommendations of enhancing the national spirits of individuals. Besides the necessity of creating a scientific manual on conflict analysis/ and resolution.
